Joe Cartwright has been painting with watercolours since 1998 and professionally since 2004. He paints in a fluid and spontaneous manner, which allows him to capture the mood and atmosphere of his subject with a style that encourages the viewer to involve one’s self with his work.
He has exhibited at major and regional art shows for over 14 years at which he has sold over 300 paintings and received many first prizes and other awards. One of these was the $3000 first prize for watercolour at the John Copes Watercolour Exhibition (2009).

Joe is the author of Mastering Watercolors – a practical guide which is available for purchase as a paperback and ebook from Amazon.com

He is a member of the Nepean Art Society, at which he runs weekly watercolour classes, and the Macquarie Towns and the Oatley 101 Arts Societies.
