OVERVIEW OF WORKSHOP

Simply making marks is one of the most primal instincts of man. These days we don’t have to scratch a drawing onto a cave wall or use a charred stick to trace an outline, instead we have the magic fibre tip pen. It is fast, direct, waterproof, unforgiving and a classic way to draw. Line and wash drawing can be seen in Rembrandt’s work, van Gogh’s and J.M.W. Turner’s travel sketches of course.

It is the tried-and-true method for working with your sketchbooks as you travel or for exploring new ideas for final paintings. Spend a day getting to grips with this medium, covering the rendering of trees, water and different materials like stone, brick, timber, metal, etc.
Want to add colour? We’ll do that as well.

Some experience with drawing and/or watercolour is preferred.

BREAKS

There will be morning tea and lunch breaks during the day. Kettle, fridge and microwave are available for your use. Bring your food requirements for lunch or purchase at the nearby shopping centre.
